"Chemistry Exhibition"

During the past few weeks, DCP's Chemistry students have designed, performed and analyzed their own experiments. Students have made full use of DCP's new laboratory facilities, with projects ranging from bacterial growth, to exploding sodium metal.

Sample projects include: effects of hydrogenation on the viscosity of hydrocarbons, effects of chemical composition on the boiling point of liquids, effects of repeated use on the safety of disposable water bottles, effects of composition on the flammability of gases, and effects of sweating on the temperature of the human body.

The Chemistry Exhibition will be held at DCP on Friday June 2, 2006 at 4:00 pm in rooms 4 and 5.


"Latino Studies Exhibition"

You are invited to participate in the following round table discussions in Latino Studies at the DCP Media Center:

Mucho machismo: A study of the effect of machismo on Latino women in US Society.

June 1st, 2006 from 11:30 to 12:10 pm

World domination: A study of cultural inequality between Western and Latino people.

June 1st, 2006 from 12:15 to 12:45 pm

The impact of HR 4437 on Latino Immigrants

June 2nd, 2006 from 11:30 to 12:10 pm

The effect of Latino Gangs on our families and communities

"Dance Exhibition"

You are cordially invited to attend the first Annual Downtown College Prep Dance recital on Tuesday June 6, 2006 at 4:00 pm in the Multipurpose room.

Students will be performing dances they have choreographed themselves, as well as several dances they have learned in the dance class this year.


"AP US History Exhibition"

History students, will be making keynote presentations on what they consider the most influential primary source in American History.

Presentations will take place on Tuesday June 6, 2006 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at DCP, room 17.
